Your Full Name: Amber Redfield
Last Name of the Person Who Discovered The Potential Sport: Redfield
Have you submitted a sport before? And if so, what number would this submission be?: 1
Mutation Expression: Yellow Expressing
Color/Pattern Description:
Sectored (Large sections of the leaves contain solid expressions of the mutation)
Multilayered (Variegation is present on more than the surface layer)
Visible on midrib
Does your sport have any morphological properties that are consistent? Such as strange shaped leaves, odd textures, etc. If so, please describe::
Have you propagated this sport yet?: No
If so, how many successful propagations have you managed so far? And what were your primary methods?:
Have you had any reversions? If so how many from your total propagation numbers?: So far the two newest leaves have shown no signs of variegation. This plant did go through root rot, which I was able to save the main node with the variegated leaf. It recovered fine, but no signs of mutations yet.
When did the mutation occur?: Seedling stage
And lastly, what's the story? How did you discover this plant? Paint us a picture!: I discovered this sport at a Lowe’s last summer. I’d been tirelessly searching every big box store, small garden store, grocers, and anywhere that had a “garden” section. This plant was at the edge of a new shipment of tropicals, and as I started to comb through, I saw the variegated leaf stick out with bright yellows, creams, and minty greens! I couldn’t believe it, and I quickly put it into my cart! This plant has survived a lot of weather, root rot, and ADHD, so I am thrilled it’s still here and showing off it’s beauty! (For the submission up too it would only let me put numbers, but wanted to add this: This is submission 1. I only posted on discord previously: under Redfield 001S)
